Lionel Sawyer & Collins Donation Drive - Your Stuff. Our Truck.
On May 1, donations from Lionel Sawyer & Collins staff and team members filled an entire Goodwill truck during their "Your Stuff. Our Truck."donation drive. A Goodwill truck picked up donations of "gently used" furniture, clothing and other items from the homes of participating Lionel Sawyer & Collins employees.
Rainbow Store Remodel
Our Rainbow store was closed for three weeks in April for remodeling.

Harrah's Career and Resource Fair
On April 14th, Goodwill of Southern Nevada participated in the Harrah's Career and Resource Fair held at the Rio Hotel Casino. More than 7,000 job seekers attended. Harrah's was offering on site interviews for more than 500 full time, part time and seasonal positions at Harrah's properties. Goodwill's Career Connections team was on site to offer career counseling and resume help. And through a partnership with United Way, Goodwill volunteers offered last minute tax preparation assistance as part of the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.
Goodwill and Metro Job Fair
On March 17th, Goodwill of Southern Nevada and LVMPD South Central Area Command teamed up for a community job fair held at the Cambridge Community Center. Over a thousand attendees visited a dozen employers with open positions for face-to-face, one-on-one recruiting. Goodwill's Career Connections Employment Specialists were on hand to provide free resume help, job search assistance and help job seekers fill out on-line job applications in the Center's computer lab.
UNLV Mobile Store "Suit Up" Event
On February 24th, Goodwill of Southern Nevada and UNLV Career Services held the "Suit Up" mobile store inside the UNLV Student Union. College students were given the opportunity to purchase gently used merchandise "suitable" for job and internship interviews. Suits, jackets, shirts, ties, handbags and shoes were available for purchase at Goodwill prices.
Goodwill's 2010 Community Recognition Luncheon
On Wednesday, February 17, Goodwill of Southern Nevada held its 2010 Community Recognition Luncheon at Paris Las Vegas. Goodwill clients were honored for their accomplishments; and supporters & community partners were recognized for their contributions to Goodwill's mission. For our event program, click here. Euphoria Institute Open House
On Tuesday, January 19, friends, family, students and staff of the Euphoria Institute's North Las Vegas Campus gathered for their Open House and Fashion Show special event. Hair, makeup and styling provided by students and staff of Euphoria Institute. Fashion show clothing was provided by Goodwill of Southern Nevada's Cheyenne store.

Career Connections Center
On December 7th, Goodwill of Southern Nevada celebrated the grand opening of our second Career Connections center with a job fair and ribbon cutting at the new center inside our Tropicana store. Over 500 attended the job fair which featured employers such as Harrah's Entertainment, Station Casinos, Denny's, Albertsons and others.

VEGAS Magazine's VEGAS Gives
Thank you to VEGAS Magazine (http://www.vegasmagazine.com/index.html) and Goodwill board of directors member Colleen May! Colleen is featured in the magazine as part of "The Giving Team" - twelve of the city's "best and brightest women who are working to build a more charitable Las Vegas." A cocktail party held at The Shoppes at the Palazzo Dec 8th helped raise money for Goodwill and other charities.

YOGA Sanctuary Holiday Party
Good times and good karma! Yoga instructors from Sherry Goldstein's YOGA Sanctuary (www.lasvegasyoga.com) helped raise money for Goodwill of Southern Nevada during their holiday party at TAO Nightclub at the Venetian Dec. 10th. For donations, the instructors would "Strike a Pose for Charity." All the money raised will help people in our community go back to work. SpyOnVegas.com Ugly Sweater Party at Brio
More than 150 items of "gently used clothing" was donated at 944 Magazine (http://www.944.com/lasvegas) & SpyOnVegas.com's Ugly Sweater Open Bar Party, held Dec. 11th at Brio at Town Square. (http://www.brioitalian.com/) Party goers donned their best looking ugly sweaters and enjoyed great food and drinks. Thank you to all involved!

Goodwill at the Fun Walk
On December 19th, Goodwill supporters joined Las Vegas City Councilman and Goodwill Board of Directors member Stavros Anthony for a one-mile fun walk at Majestic Park in Summerlin. All proceeds benefitted Goodwill. Thank you to everyone who participated!
